Humility is key

Humility is the state where you admit that you are not perfect: you have incomplete knowledge. Humility is a prime tool for learning and becoming a better person. Learning begins with the realization that you do not know everything. In order to learn you must be able to shut up and listen carefully. Blind you shalt not be! Pick the right people to show humility to! 1. People who know stuff, can explain stuff well and can listen = humility 2. People who pretend to know stuff, make you think like you can't possibly understand stuff and people who love to hear their own voices = discrete avoidance Conclusion: Humility is key. Jokes and their function

What are jokes? Jokes are a pleasant realization that something about a story is odd. When pictures of impossible or awkward scenes show up in your mind's eye, a smile or a laugh starts. People tell jokes to check if the people they are addressing are able to spot the odd thing about a situation or a story. If you can spot it, it means that you have a solid basic understanding of how that particular situation should work normally and you thereby demonstrate that you are intelligent and fit. Jokes are extremely important in human culture. We crave laughing and try to do everything to be funny. This urge comes from the need to demonstrate that we have a good feel for what is right and what is wrong. Another function of a joke is to state one's views: If you tell a racist joke, you are still just telling a joke, you are not 'actually' being racist, but by gaugeing the reaction of your audience, you can scan their attitudes towars racial exclusion.
