How Old people turn into Conservative people.

If your grandparents had to be young again, would they like it?
Maybe they don't just reject new things because they have a hard time adopting to them.
Maybe they reject novelty because it is contrary to their core PRINCIPLES.

Texting? -why don't you walk over and talk to her?
Working out? -just go and chop some firrwood, son!
Taking a vacation in Thailand? -get to know the county forest first!
Metal is awesome! -where is the melody? and why growl?
Social justice activism? - Church!


If we are to take this thought one level further, will we find that our grandparents are not PROUD of us? Although The Old understand that the world changes, it must be hard to be proud of a grandson who does things that they don't even understand.
As useful and well-paid as software engineers might be, it must be quite a mind-twist for an 80 years old to place his grandson's occupation in his world picture.
Will today's youth face an even higher grade of intergenerational dissonance in the future as technology-induced societal changes accelerate?

Ah, those flights were so exhausting!

How the fuck is that that people can legitimately complain about their long plane trips and various layovers? When you are traveling, you are just sitting. You are not doing anything that is tiring, the whole point of a flight is that you should remain seated in one spot for hours! And the layovers! They do demand an extraordinary cognitive effort! I mean you have to get through gates and navigate among air conned corridors and read various info panels. And most of all, you have to fuckin walk! I mean some part of the way.
